Viola-ResizedWelcome to the Dominican Chamber Orchestra

Founded in the summer of 2016, the Dominican Chamber Orchestra is dedicated to serving students and the music education community of Fremont.  We are located at the Dominican Sisters School of Music in the heart of Fremont’s Mission San José district.

Auditions for the 2017-18 season are now closed.

The Dominican Chamber Orchestra believes high quality music experiences have long lasting impact on young musicians and audience members.  Excellence is at the heart of DCO’s program. Working collaboratively with local professional musicians, student members gain insight and knowledge through hands on training and mentorship.

DCO repertoire explores a variety of music literature in order to develop our young musicians individual talents.  The chamber orchestra experience is unique in its small ensemble size and high performance expectations for all involved.  Every student plays an important role and is expected to perfect his or her part in support of the larger ensemble.

Student musicians and their families are encouraged to make the most of this opportunity. Individual practice between rehearsals is expected and necessary to achieve our high goals. Prompt and regular attendance to all rehearsals as well as performances is mandatory.

Financial Aid

A limited amount of financial aid is available.  It is our wish that no qualified student is excluded based upon inability to pay.  Once accepted into DCO, students may apply for assistance.
